We provide a wide range of engineering services. Professional engineers and qualified technicians service the heavy structural, mechanical engineering, saw milling and wood re-processing industries. We operate throughout New Zealand and Australia and also handle major projects throughout the Pacific Rim countries, with manufacturing premises in Christchurch, New Zealand.

We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of a large range of heavy-duty equipment, including:

sawmills, saw milling and dry milling machinery (debarkers, bandmills, resaws, edgers, gangs, log carriages, bin and sling sorters, stackers, and planer/moulder equipment),
all types of cranes and hoists,
materials-handling equipment, ship loading and other port facilities,
general mechanical engineering.

NOTE: From the 1st March 2010, our Auckland and Melbourne Subsidiaries, which have been operating for the past 3 years as Wilson Engineering Systems Ltd, will operate as branches of Southern Cross Engineering Limited. This change is occurring as we integrate the businesses of Wilson Engineering Systems and Southern Cross Engineering. The key focus on these changes is to improve our service to our customers.

It has been nearly 3 years since the merger, and we have been reviewing how we do things. This change is part of a process to bring both businesses together. You will be informed of more changes over the next few months, but rest assured our primary objective is to ensure that we provide the best possible service.

Our facilities in Christchurch are housed in approximately 5500m² of manufacturing machine shop, steel fabrication and assembly departments. Today there is a staff of 80 persons. In Brisbane we have 700m² of office and showroom.
