Heavy Fabrication

Heavy Fabrication

Our large fabrication shop with 25 tonne lifting capacity allows SCE to undertake heavy engineering projects.  The fabrication shop is a recent expansion: 20m wide x 90m long clear space for large projects. Our range of equipment includes a flat bed for girder and welded beam fabrication, high power SAW welding plant, 100 tonne manipulators, CNC machining centres and a high definition plasma cutter. This combination of equipment offer higher levels of quality control, production performance and cost effectiveness.

Heavy lifting can be achieved with mobile cranes.  We have a rail system to transfer large fabrication into a separate paint shop.  We have transported 37m long girders and 8m wide fabrications from our workshop.

Our shell welding capability includes a 4m SAW boom and 100 tonne manipulators suitable for penstocks, pile casings and towers.

Our tradesmen are experienced in machinery fabrication to close tolerances, welding up to 150mm thick plate, bisalloy platework and heavy truss building.

We have experienced mechanical design engineers and draughtsmen with a design office of that features AutoCAD and Inventor workstations plus specialist conveyor and crane design programmes. Our current staff level is in excess of 100 engineers and tradesmen.
