Welcome to Southern Cross Engineering

We provide a wide range of engineering services. Professional engineers and qualified technicians service the heavy structural, mechanical engineering, saw milling and wood re-processing industries. We operate throughout New Zealand and Australia and also handle major projects throughout the Pacific Rim countries, with manufacturing premises in Christchurch, New Zealand.

We specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of a large range of heavy-duty equipment, including:

• sawmills, saw milling and dry milling machinery (debarkers, bandmills, resaws, edgers, gangs, log carriages, bin and sling sorters, stackers, and planer/moulder equipment),
• all types of cranes and hoists,
• materials-handling equipment, ship loading and other port facilities,
• general mechanical engineering.

Our facilities in Christchurch are housed in approximately 5500m² of manufacturing machine shop, steel fabrication and assembly departments. Today there is a staff of 80 persons. In Brisbane we have 700m² of office and showroom.
